For die-hard fans of the Scream Franchise, they know there was a time that a Ghostface from the original film was going to make an apperance in Scream 3.

Matthew Lillard who memorably played Stu in the 1996 classic was once mooted to be one of the reveals towards the end of the second sequel, in which he once more played havoc in the life of Sydney Prescott.

The idea was dropped and his character hasn’t been seen since a TV landed on his head, but with Scream 5 now in the planning stage and with the creative juices of the Ready Or Not team behind the camera, Lillard was asked would he return to the franchise if the offer was there and this was his reply!

“Yes, yes, I’m available, yes, yes!, obviously. That’s like Stacey Abrams openly campaigning for the vice presidency,” he joked. “There’s nobody that wouldn’t want to come back and reprise a role they got to do when they were a boy and be able to do something different as a man would be exciting. You just don’t get that opportunity often.”

With Neve Campbell already in discussions in coming back as Sydney, it would be quite fascinating to see her character share a scene with her old nemesis, but then after SCRE4M unfairly failed to entice a new generation, should the franchise lose its feel of similarity and branch out to a new storyline?

We wait and see!
