Its hard to forget after the poor sequels and of course the film choices of Eddie Murphy, just how good the original Beverly Hills Cop movie is!
The film released in 1984, was a huge box office smash and made Murphy a mega star and for years fans have been wondering if a fourth sequel would happen.
The once eagerly awaited TV Show never went as far as its Pilot and news broke last year that Netflix were planning on bringing Axel Foley to their streaming site in a new movie.
After the huge success of Bad Boys For Life, directing duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are still attached to the fourth sequel and they gave fans an update this weekend!
“We’re still involved in that project, and there’s a screenwriter now on it that’s going to try to write a first draft, or a first treatment at least with the story,” explained El Arbi.
“So we’re going to see what the first version will be, but we’re very excited and hope that we can work with another icon like Eddie Murphy. That’d be great.”
“When I was a kid, it was one of my favourite movies. It was the quintessential Jerry Bruckheimer movie – a buddy-cop, humour action movie. Bad Boys is a Beverly Hills Cop kind of movie. And of course, Eddie Murphy is an idol,” El Arbi continued.
After the way they brought the two Bad Boys back to the big screen after so many years away, their take on a new adventure for Axel Foley would be a massive coup for Netflix and one exciting movie for action junkies.
