ALIEN and ALIENS are two of the greatest Sci-fi horror/action films of all time. Which film is the best is an often debate among fans, even witnessed in a Film Class where Randy studied in the classic sequel Scream 2.

You won’t get that debate between the two prequel films Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, whose lukewarm response at the box-office stopped Ridley Scott from completing his ALIEN prequel trilogy.

But Scott during an interview with the LA Times hasn’t given up hope.

I still think there’s a lot of mileage in ‘Alien,’ but I think you’ll have to now re-evolve. What I always thought when I was making it, the first one, why would a creature like this be made and why was it traveling in what I always thought was a kind of war-craft, which was carrying a cargo of these eggs.“

“What was the purpose of the eggs? That’s the thing to question — who, why, and for what purpose is the next idea, I think.”

There is no news if we will ever get those answers, but with DISNEY now owning the rights to the franchise, lets just say thinks are looking very unlikely.

We still live in hope that one day Sigourney Weaver will get her chance to reprise her signature role as Ripley….I mean it has worked for a certain Jamie Lee Curtis.
