There were a few Crocodile horror flicks floating around in the noughties, with Wolf Creek’s Greg Mclean leading the way with his 2007 Rogue offering.

A similar film from that year, Black Water has also gained a cult following and now, 13 years later, we are getting a sequel.

Its been announced that Screen Media have obtained the rights for Black Water: Abyss, and will be released on August 7th.

The synopsis we have is that its about a group of friends who explore a remote cave system deep in the forests of Northern Australia when a tropical storm hits. As rising floodwaters trap them deep below the surface, something even deadlier emerges from the darkness – killer crocodiles.

The sequel will stat Jessica McNamee (Mortal Kombat) Luke Mitchell (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D), Anthony J. Sharpe (Robert The Bruce) and Amali Golden (Bloom)

Black Water: Abyss will be directed by Andrew Traucki and written by John Ridley and Sarah Smith,
