With all the non stop news of the upcoming new take on the Justice League flim, we can be forgiven to forget that director Zack Snyder has a film career outside the world of DC.
Having broke onto the limelight nearly sixteen years ago with his own take on horror classic Dawn of the Dead, an attempt that is often cited as one of the best horror remakes in a rather murky genre, Snyder has teamed up with Netflix to bring a new Zombie flick called Army Of The Dead, which sounds more exciting than a certain Superhero smash up.
It seems that Netflix share the same opinion as they have announced that they are making a franchise out of the project.
It’s been revealed that Snyder’s ARMY OF THE DEAD co-writer Shay Hatten is currently scripting both a prequel feature and an anime series set in the world of ARMY OF THE DEAD.
Whoa…….
The synopsis of the film is of “a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, where a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble: venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.“
The prequel will of course be set before those events while the anime series which Will be called Army Of The Dead: Lost Vegas will be an origin story for the character of Dave Bautista, who stars in the original film.
As of yet, no release date.
