In what is a surprising but yet much welcome news, our favourite serial killer Dexter Morgan is returning to the small screen after 7 years away for a limited 10 episode season.

This will delight fans as we may finally get a finale that the show deserves as the original is often looked upon as one of the worst ever in TV Land.

The good news is, Michael C Hall is returning to the signature role and we are also getting Clyde Philip’s back as Showrunner.

THR notes, “The show will be a continuation of the original series, which ended with Hall’s Dexter Morgan going on self-imposed exile as a lumberjack and living a solitary life

Entertainment president Gary Levine said in a statement.

Dexter is such a special series, both for its millions of fans and for Showtime, as this breakthrough show helped put our network on the map many years ago,”

“We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series. Well, I am happy to report that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it, and we can’t wait to shoot it and show it to the world.”

For four seasons DEXTER was one of the best TV Shows and it reached an amazing high with its John Lithgow “Trinity” storyline, that it failed to match up for the rest of its seasons run.

Let’s hope we get a return to the days when Dexter was the ultimate bad guy we all loved to bits…..
