A few months back it was announced that The Boys II director William Brent Bell has signed up to make a prequel to the 2009 horror hit ORPHAN.
Now minor spoilers for those who haven’t seen the film but while it was a pretty decent horror to start with, what has risen it to the much cherished love it receives is the barnstorming twist at the finale that shocked those that never saw it coming.
Well in a further shock, it’s been confirmed that original lead star Isabella Fuhram has signed up to reprise the role as Esther in the forthcoming prequel.
Fuhram played a young nine year old girl in the original, so how she can play the same character eleven years later and what is basically a plot set before it is anyone’s guess?
To add a bit of further quality to the film, Julia Stiles has also been confirmed to star.
We also have a synopsis for you.
Leena Klammer orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as “Esther” comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.
We are guessing the mum will be Stiles.
Filming is already under way.
