Ever since Konami released the first ever Metal Gear Solid game on the original PlayStation way back in 1998, there has been calls for a movie adaption, With nearly every action actor linked to the role.

But finally after such a long wait, it’s been announced that SONY have cast their Solid Snake, with the splendid news that Oscar Isaac will take on the coveted role.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts is on board to direct.

The script is written by Derek Connolly with Avi Arad producing.

The Video Game which spawned many sequels is one of the most popular titles of all time and the news of Isaac has been warmly greeted by the legion of Snake fans.

Movies based on video games have a notorious history, so let’s hope this finally bucks that trend.
