It’s been in the news for the last few years that we were getting a new Indiana Jones film and for a while we have had rumours of Chris Pratt taking over the iconic role, to then Bradley Cooper, but not any more.
It’s been officially confirmed that Harrison Ford will indeed don the hat and use that whip for the fifth and final time, once a script has been sorted.
Producer Frank Marshall has told the guys over Den Of Geek that there was no plan to ever replace Ford with a new actor.
He said:
Yeah, we are working on the script. There is only be one Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford. What I’m excited about with Jim is a great story. I think you see that in his movies like Ford Vs Ferrari. It’s all about characters and telling a good story. So I’m excited to see what he comes up with. I haven’t seen (the script) yet so I don’t know what to tell you.
With Ford now 78 years old and with the script still waiting to be confirmed, Will this project ever see light?
James Mangold is still lined up to direct with a release date planned for July 2022.
