One of the most popular gaming titles is the Borderland franchise, a stunning best selling title that sells over 65m copies on each release and the next in line to have a film adaption, even though we all know that many that go down this route, do not exactly set the box-office alight.

The man in charge of hoping to buck this trend is horror director Eli Roth who having already signed up Cate Blanchett in a starring role, has now confirmed that Kevin Hart will also take a leading part.

Roth said in a statement:

I’m thrilled to be working with Kevin, Borderlands is a different kind of role for him, and we are excited to thrill audiences with a side of Kevin they’ve never seen before. He’s going to be an amazing Roland.”

The character Roland is described as a skilled ex-soldier turned mercenary.

Craig Mazin, a two-time Emmy-winning screenwriter has written the script and as of yet there is no start date for filming.
