We will not go into the ins or outs of the backstory of Jeepers Creepers, in fact there was a debate if we were to post this news story, because of the association the franchise has of a certain individual person who we will not mention by name.
But away from that and if we forget the awful third film, the original Jeepers Creepers was a pretty good horror, with a strong opening half that still holds up to this day and while the sequel was OK, the franchise has never became the big hitter it could have been and in a surprise move, its been announced that there is a reboot coming, with Iron Sky’s Timo Vuorensola directing and in a further shock, the film has already been filmed and is due to land sometime this year.
Here is the synopsis:
When the Horror Hound festival holds its first ever event in Louisiana, it attracts hundreds of geeks, freaks and die-hard horror fans from far and wide, to howl and celebrate into the night. Among them is love-able fanboy Chase and his devoted sweetheart Laine, who is forced to come along for the ride. But as the event approaches, Laine begins to experience unexplained premonitions and disturbing visions associated with the town’s past, and in particular, local legend/urban myth The Creeper. As the festival arrives and the blood-soaked entertainment builds to a frenzy, Laine believes that something unearthly has been summoned… and that she is at the center of it.
Has the Creeper still got the power to to wow the horror fans, or is the franchise doomed? We’ll soon find out!
