I suppose since the success of the wonderful BATES MOTEL, a TV Prequel of the horror classic PSYCHO that has won worldwide acclaim, we are guessing no big horror franchise is safe from being adapted to the TV screen. Over the last few years we have had the likes of The Exorcist and The Silence Of The Lambs being given the small screen treatment and with the likes of PACIFIC HEIGHTS and ARLINGTON ROAD recently being announced, alongside a FATAL ATTRACTION redo, we are now getting news that LIONSGATE are developing a SAW and an AMERICAN PSYCHO TV shows which will either thrill or alarm the many fans out there.

Can’t see what a SAW show could offer that we haven’t seen with the film franchise, but both ideas have at least made us feel a tiny bit curious at the prospect!

Here is what Lionsgate’s Television chairman Kevin Beggs said about about the prospect of the two shows:

And it’s only creative people because creative people are always leaning in to figure out how to say yes. There will be business obstacles, I’m sure, later, but in that room it’s just green fields and blue skies and what if. That has led to a lot of really great collaborations. We’ve just wrapped up Dear White People which was a really good experience, Blindspotting is coming up, American Psycho is in development. We’re always exploring what we can do in television with something like the Saw franchise, so that’s a conversation.

More as we get it!
