In a breaking news story I thought I’d never write, NBC have ordered a pilot episode of a re-boot of the much beloved and classic TV show Quantum Leap and guess what? Rumours are is that Scott Bakula is in talks!

What we have is so far is a some sort of concept which you can read below:

It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.”

The sad death of Dean Stockwell who memorably played Admiral Al Calavicci, a hologram that only Sam could see and hear, does put a sadness on this stunning announcement and he will be deeply missed, but are we finally going to get a sequel to one of the greatest TV shows of all time?

There is some serious talent behind this project with original creator Don Bellisario on board for the revival, with Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt (Gotham) as showrunners. Deborah Pratt and Martin Gero will become executive producers.

I very much doubt that I’ll write a news story that excites me like this for the rest of 2021
