In yet another shocking bit of news story, following on from the I Am Legend sequel, its been announced that Evil Dead/Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez will step behind the camera to direct (and write) a brand new ALIEN film.

Ridley Scott is involved with the film in a producing capacity and those who are hoping that Sigourney Weaver will finally return to the franchise, prepare to be disappointed as its been officially ruled out.

This will be a brand new story, introducing a new set of characters, but as of yet, plot details remain scarce.

The ALIEN franchise is also getting a TV series with Scott teaming up with Noah Hawley (Fargo) as it was announced last year that the the show will be based on the Xenomorphs finally making it to earth.
