The massive success of SCREAM (not the 1996 original – the recently released sequel that is basically SCREAM 5), was followed by news that a further film is coming, with shooting set to start later in the year.

Not much to go on at the moment apart from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are returning to direct with James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick back writing the script.

The first confirmation of casting is from Courtney Cox though who has announced that she has signed up once more to play Gale Weathers. This what she was quoted as saying:

“I got the script yesterday. And I haven’t read it yet. I just got it, and I’m so used to getting, you know Shining Vales scripts, which are 26 pages, and I’m, ‘Whoah, I’ve got to read a script.’ I’m excited to read it.”

While we didn’t lavish the praise on the latest movie like many others, it still had its moments and while its great to know that Gale is coming back for a round six battle with Ghostface, how many times can we see the same character fight/survive the endless “Guess who it is?” battle?

Is it time for Scream to venture out behind the old character’s?
