Its news we broke last year that Lionsgate are pushing ahead with a fifth Insidious film with a release planned for July 7th 2023 and while back then it was also announced that Patrick Wilson is not only returning to his role as the father Josh, but also will direct the sequel.

It’s now been confirmed that Rose Byrne will also be returning as wife Renal and the story will pick up 10 years after we’ve last seen the Lambert family.

Here is the synopsis:

“Josh Lambert (Wilson) heads east to drop his son Dalton (Simpkins) off at an idyllic, ivy-covered university. However, Dalton’s college dream becomes a nightmare when the repressed demons of his past suddenly return to haunt them both.”
