“There can only be one!” was the war cry, way back in 1986 when the original was released and after numerous sequels and a successful TV Show, you can understand why they feel they lied.
Now after years of planning and so many rumours, it looks like the long mooted remake is finally happening with John Wick helmer Chad Stahelski confirming the news with an interview with Collider.
Due to start filming in January and with himself directing, alongside Henry Cavill in the lead role, this is what he had to say to Collider’s Steve Weintraub during the Mediterranean Film Festival in Malta,
“We start shooting in January in Scotland, that’s why I go right after I leave. I go to Scotland on Monday to do the final location scout. It’s another opportunity to do a property that I love. I love what it’s about, I love working with immortality and love stories through time. I think it’s a good way to take a great period piece, and sci-fi, and mix them together.“
The original starred Christopher Lambert and the late Sean Connery and is considered a huge cult classic.
