If you were unaware, SCREAM 7 has began filming with original writer Kevin Williamson excitedly sitting in the director’s chair, with the plot switching back to Neve Campbell’s Sidney, after she missed out on the sixth outing bloodbath in what turned out to be the last outing for the Carpenter sisters.

In a surprise move that will most likely disappoint the die-hard fans, it’s been announced that Joel Mchale has signed up to play Sidney’s husband Mark Evans which ends the popular theory that Detective Mark Kincaid (Patrick Dempsey) of Scream 3 was her spouse.

There were rumours that Dempsey was in talks to return, but this news puts an end to that speculation.

Scream 7 is due for release early 2026.
