It seems a long time ago since we were talking about a SCREAM 7 that was set to be directed by Christopher Landon, with returning stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega back to fight off yet another threat from a new Ghostface.

As we all know, a lot has happened since then, with the trio walking away from the project and of course we then got news that Neve Campbell who sat out of the last bloodbath, is to return as Sidney Prescott, while Kevin Williamson, who wrote the screenplay for the original Scream, finally gets his chance in the director’s chair.

But deep breath, that’s not all. We then heard that some old Ghostface’s are returning. Matthew Lillard, yes – STU and also Scott Foley – yes Rowan – and that’s not all,  David Arquette, is back as Dewey. What? How?

Well its a huge mystery and its setting up quite the intrigue among fans, and Foley himself has talked about his return.

“I don’t know how it works out. Spoiler alert! 25 years ago I was the killer in Scream 3 and he was brutally taken to town and killed. And now I’m back in Scream 7 and I’m not sure how it’s going to work.”

“It’s so much fun and I got to see Neve [Campbell] again and David Arquette again. And Kevin Williamson, who wrote the first one and put me in… I was in Dawson’s Creek, which was the first TV show he did years ago — he’s directing this one. And we had so much fun being on set. It was just great being around people you love and know.“

If Foley doesn’t know how this is going to work, how can we guess? One thing is for certain, is that we all have to wait for when Scream 7 is finally released early next year….
