Its one of horrors most cherished franchises and its been nearly three years since TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSCARE landed on NETLFIX, a sequel that was set fifty years after Tobe Hopper’s original masterpiece and now, once more there are plans to bring Leatherface back.

DEADLINE are reporting that Verve, who currently represents the rights, have a raft of studios and filmmakers wanting to pitch a new take on the iconic horror franchise, which is always a sign that something is about to happen very soon.

There is nothing really concrete at the moment to say “this is where the story is going”, just a bit of a tease, before the big reveal, but on the same report it states that writer/director JT Mollner (Strange Darling) and producer Roy Lee (It) are among the interested parties, with Top Gun: Maverick’s Glen Powell interested in being involved.

Whatever direction the franchise takes, the news will no doubt break in a few weeks/months time….
