If you haven’t heard, Buffy Summers is finally heading back to the small screen. Reboot? Remake? No, we are getting a full continuation of the much loved series, with Sarah Michelle Gellar returning to her iconic role and now, further details have emerged of the upcoming revival.

Gellar will return as Buffy, but more now as a mentor to the the brand new slayer in town that is currently going by the name NOVA, but that is expected to change. The new slayer is being described as a cerebral 16-year-old who is very smart and a bit of a loner.

We then come to a character called Hugo. Not much at the moment, just described as an out-and-proud nerd who comes from money. Finally we have Gracie, who from the description, could basically be a younger version of Giles. A character who knows everything about Buffy and is also a young expert on vampires.

Oscar winner Chloé Zhao is set to direct the pilot from a script by Poker Face duo Nora and Lilla Zuckerman.
