Just 1 day before the release of its third chapter, creator Ross Hughes has confirmed that The Becoming will now shift from its original monthly release schedule to a weekly format.
The original horror web series — which blend comic-book storytelling with an ongoing mystery set in the eerie world of Merfill Town — launched earlier this month, with Chapter Two quickly becoming the fastest-performing instalment so far.
Following the early support, returning viewers, and growing momentum across both YouTube and social media,
Hughes has made the decision to accelerate the release schedule.
“When I first started this project, I wanted to take my time and let each chapter breathe,” Hughes said. “But seeing people return, watch, share and invest in this strange little horror world has pushed me to keep the story moving.”
The move means fans won’t have to wait weeks between chapters, with Chapter Three – A Bad Situation now arriving this Saturday, as the nightmare in Merfill Town continues to deepen.
While the first two chapters laid the groundwork for the world, characters and mystery, Hughes has teased that the upcoming chapters will begin pushing the story into darker territory.
And while Chapter Three still carries the raw and unfiltered spirit of how the series was originally created, its ending reportedly sets the stage for Chapter Four — where The Becoming truly begins.
With momentum building and weekly chapters now locked in, one thing is clear: Merfill Town is only just getting started.
The Becoming streams exclusively on Hacked2Pieces.com and YouTube.
