    1. I love the films you stumble on with no expectations going in and it blows you away. The closure of Video/rental stores makes it much more harder to find those little gems that you miss!

        1. I did something similar many years ago on mu sister site HCF. Its not the same searching through Amazon Prime for releases as you don’t get that same thrill as you did standing there on a Monday morning scanning the shelves for new releases. I never would have discovered the joys of Session 9, The Objective and so many underrated classics. You should! It be a great read!

          1. Musing on a sideline about video -shop memories, there were some in Manhattan that were as battered and old as the battered black-plastic video-cases they rented to us. Just a film lover’s dream to search their shelves…

          2. Being a kid in the UK and walking into those stores and seeing cardboard cut outs of Freddy and Jason and co…..is a memory that made me fall in love with film and horror.
