I am going to confess a Guilty pleasure here, but one day when I was channel surfing for my next “binge-watch”, I stumbled on ABC Family/Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars on NETFLIX and while its not my usual watch, I found myself engrossed in finding out who “A” was and why they were tormenting the four lead girls.

Of course, by the time they revealed who “A” was and then announced yet another another “A” and repeated it for the third time, the series had become stale and viewers started to get bored, but it was still one of the most popular shows on the box!

The series ended in 2017 and fans have had two short-lived spin offs with The Perfectionists causing fury when it was suddenly axed as it was growing in popularity.

It seems though that the idea is not over yet. with HBO all set to bring a new version of the story in what is being described as a more darker and horror heavy vibe.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Riverdale,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) is developing the HBO Max series and it will be called “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,”.

Here is the synopsis:

“In the dark, coming-of-RAGE, horror-tinged drama Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, we find ourselves miles away from Rosewood, but within the existing Pretty Little Liars universe — in a brand new town, with a new generation of Little Liars.”

Aguirre-Sacasa had this to say.

“We’re leaning into the suspense and horror in this reboot, which hopefully will honour what the fans loved about the hit series, while weaving in new, unexpected elements.”
