The film world is at the feet of Curry Baker after the success of Obsession, and while he is currently attached in bringing his own version of Leatherface to the big screen with a new Texas Chainsaw horror, Baker has surprised by saying that he would love to make a R-Rated Indiana Jones movie, well sort of.
Here is what he had to say when talking to the Gold Derby:
“I would want to do a really f–ked up, rated-R version of [Indiana Jones] … I want to do a crazy adventure movie. That’s something that [producing partner Cooper Tomlinson] and I have talked about, because we feel like we’ve never seen something like that; we’ve only ever seen the family-friendly version. But what happens if two regular guys, or one regular guy, goes on a journey that turns crazy? Literally pushing the boundaries of that genre would be fun for me.”
While many would love to see this take on the much loved Harrison Ford character, what Baker is implying here is a sort of version of Indy, but his own concept and character, someone like him, but instead of kid friendly, it would be gory and – well- f-ked up. That’s not to say that Temple Of Doom is not without its horror moments…
Lets hope Baker gets his wish.
