There have been a few horror films with the title THE ICE CREAM MAN – the most notable being Clint Howard’s 1995 cult flick and now HOSTEL’s director Eli Roth is bringing his own horror spin – dropping the, THE with just a title that screams – ICE CREAM MAN – which is due for release in August.
Media Capital Technologies and The Horror Section are fully financing Ice Cream Man, that sounds like it’s about to turn your childhood nightmares into reality.
The film follows an idyllic summer town that quickly descends into madness when a mysterious ice cream man begins serving up sweet delights… with horrifying consequences.
Yeah — this isn’t your typical Mr. Whippy run.
Roth directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Noah Belson. Interestingly, the idea has been sitting with Roth for over two decades — with studios previously too nervous to take the risk.
