If you are a fan of LEATHERFACE -one of the iconic bogeymen in the horror genre – then there is some good news.
Not only is there a TEXAS CHAINSAW TV series in the works from the creative team that includes the likes of Glen Powell, Dan Cohen, and director JT Mollner – there were rumblings that A24 were set to bring a new take on the classic tale and now VARIETY have confirmed this is happening with a promising director now attached.
Curry Barker– whose upcoming horror flick OBSESSION has won rave reviews from those who has seen it and is one of the most eagerly awaited horror flicks of 2026 – has signed up to write and direct the next tale in the chainsaw saga.
There has been many sequels since the 1974 original and not one has really captured the magic of Tobe Hooper’s ground-breaking classic – but the attachment of Barker is a curious one – more so if OBSESSION does indeed to prove to this rumoured fantastic horror flick when its released on May 15th.
