Ever since its critical and box-office success on its release in 2011, there has been rumblings of a follow up to the British alien invasion flick Attack On The Block and once more director Joe Cornish has teased that something could be happening in the near future.

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Cornish admitted that he and original star John Boyega – yes of Star Wars fame-have recently met up to discuss the idea of a return to this world, words which will no doubt delight the cult fan base, who have been longing for this to happen.

Here is what he said:

“We’re working on it at the moment, John Boyega was round at my place a few weeks ago and we sat in the garden — socially distanced — talking about story ideas until it was so dark we couldn’t see each other. So, yeah, we’re working on that.”

After so many false starts and promises, are we really heading towards a much anticipated sequel, after a ten year wait?
